It didn't work like that cos when i handed over the prescription the woman said she couldn't release it as it was illegal just to hand it over, the prescription had been signed in the wrong place and i needed to go back to A&E to get another one signed. The woman phoned down and said i was on my way there but had to wait a while till the dr came back from his rounds.
I rushed down as quick as i could to get a new one then waited, and waited and waited. The pharmacy was closing at 12 noon and time was running out, i didn't even have my phone on me to inform mum where i was. The nurse kept popping out to me and said he be here soon.
By 11 o'clock he arrived and i went with him to give him mums DOB, address, and other medication then had to wait again. By 11.45 he handed the prescription to me and i ran to the pharmacy but the dr shouted back he forgot to take the slips off. i had ten minutes to run up the hill through outpatients down the corridor down 2 flights of stairs and i made it in time puffed out but i made it. All the woman wanted now was identification...shit all i had on me was my college card with photo and my bank card, she accepted it thank god.
I rushed home but mum was in a panic cos i was so long so had to reassure her and explain what had happened. she was worried about the weekend with no pain relief.
